We believe, “anything worth doing is worth doing poorly at first.” More success emerges with time, persistence, grit, and good strategies. “Do not fear mistakes - there are none. ” --Miles Davis D. We focus on process, the presentmoment, and what we can influence; results often lie beyond our control. “Real generosity towards the future lies in giving all to the present.” --Albert Camus E. We treat each other with respect and supportthrough listening and using supportive language. F. We celebrate training in a diverse community of individuals who may have very different goals. G. Athletes come to us with widely varying experiences, temperaments and motivations. While we ask for growth from all, we also honor individual goals and the intensity individuals choose. H. The ability to run further, faster and with greater ease improves with training. I can think of a few great motivators in athletics:
The delight of moving in the outdoors,
The camaraderie that comes from sharing a challenging experience,
The synchronizing of body and mind
The ability to do more – further, faster, higher, longer.
